New and Young Workers in the Workplace Training Course

Did you know 26 young workers are injured every day? That’s one worker every 55 minutes! Starting a new job can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be unsafe. According to Section 3 of WorkSafeBC, a new and young worker must be given health and safety orientation and training specific to their workplace BEFORE starting work in a workplace. Training and orienting a new and young worker is the responsibility of the supervisor or the manager on-site, but they often don’t know how to train new or young workers in the workplace.

This 4-hour course will provide supervisors and managers with the skills needed for developing and delivering new and young workers’ training and orientation specific to the workplace. In addition, it will cover what to include in orientation checklists, risks of a new/young worker, documentation, and WorkSafeBC legal requirements

This course will be co-hosted with SafeCare BC at their training centre in Burnaby. See below for more information.
